Eight years ago, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® created the Mary Ellen’s Moving People Forward® Scholarship program, which lays the groundwork for franchise managers to become successful TWO MEN AND TRUCK franchise owners. Throughout the six-month program, the participating managers attended webinars, completed assignments, presented comprehensive business plans, and more, working to get enough program points to be awarded 100 percent of their franchise fee.

This year, the applicants scored so well that for the first time, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK chose two winners to receive this honor. TWO MEN AND A TRUCK President Randy Shacka presented a $30,000 and a $50,000 check to the winners, Lucas Keefe and Tanya Nickel, virtually. Both are examples of formidable leaders with a passion for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s commitment to Moving People Forward®.

Meet Tanya Nickel

Tanya has both an impressive geographic and professional journey. She grew up working on a farm in Australia, where she first learned the outstanding work ethic that she still puts into practice today. Tanya then decided to pursue advertising, moved to the US to explore new opportunities, and began working in sales. She currently manages a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise in Sacramento, California, with a contagious energy like no other. “Every time we had a conversation or a call, [her] energy, work ethic, and passion for people just stood out,” Randy describes.

Thanks to her continued dedication and enormous talent combined with the scholarship, Tanya and her husband (currently a TMT driver) will be opening a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise in Berkeley, California, in early 2024.

Meet Lucas Keefe

Lucas joined the franchise in Boise, Idaho, about five years ago as a mover and worked his way up to a driver and then into management. Today, Lucas represents so much of what the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand stands for.

Lucas stands out as a dedicated and passionate manager who truly honors the Movers Who Care® mission. He is excited to open a franchise in Pocatello/Idaho Falls, Idaho, in early 2024. Besides looking forward to opening his business, Lucas feels very grateful for Randy and the team’s support throughout the process. “Thank you, Randy, so much for all your support and everybody at the Michigan Support Center. It was an amazing ride and journey. I’ve learned so much and couldn’t be more thankful to the whole system and everybody,” Lucas said.

Congratulations to the newest TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchise owners, Lucas Keefe and Tanya Nickel!
