ServiceMaster Brands (SMB) completed its acquisition of ServiceMaster DSI (DSI)’s commercial large loss division and related sales, marketing, operations and account management capabilities. This is an exciting step toward reestablishing Restore as the undisputed leader in disaster recovery.

“DSI’s commercial capabilities are an excellent addition to our SMR franchise network and will continue to help fuel our collective growth,” said John Tovar, President of ServiceMaster Restore.

This acquisition allows us to grow our commercial capabilities, further invest in capability building across our entire franchise network and improve our coordinated response to large loss events. Bringing a dedicated commercial sales, marketing, operations and account management team with large loss experience strengthens ServiceMaster Restore’s commercial capabilities and scale, enabling our franchisees to compete more effectively in the marketplace. SMR franchisees have a rich legacy and unique local market strategies that this acquisition will allow us to continue to nurture.

“Serving our franchisees is at the center of everything we do,” said Elane Stock, CEO of ServiceMaster Brands. “After a successful partnership that spans 40 years, we are excited to fully welcome DSI into the ServiceMaster Brands family and work even more closely together to enable our franchisees to better serve their customers in their times of need.”

Continuing its commitment to invest in talented leadership to fuel growth, SMB will welcome former DSI employees into various functions within the organization, including welcoming top leaders into newly created roles. Jim Boccher, formerly CEO of DSI, will serve as President – Commercial Restoration with responsibility for commercial sales, marketing, operations and account management, reporting directly to Elane Stock, CEO of SMB. John Tovar will continue to lead the entire ServiceMaster Restore division.
