Our Transformation Team added several interns who are vital in producing innovative tools and resources to help our franchisees grow their businesses.
One of those interns is Sidra Morchower – read below to learn more about Sidra as she shares her experience with ServiceMaster® Brands!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I’m an incoming second-year master’s student at Georgia Tech in the Human-Computer Interaction program. I am passionate about accessibility in technology and creating seamless experiences for the every-day user. Before starting my graduate program, I studied psychology and graphic design at Binghamton University in NY while playing varsity lacrosse all four years. I was also a member of the Student-Athletes for Voting and Justice committee and volunteered at the Special Olympics! In my free time I enjoy weightlifting as well as hiking and playing volleyball with my friends.
What is it about ServiceMaster® Brands that made you want to work here?
The ability to help small business owners and improve their experiences with technology to increase efficiency in their business was most intriguing to me. Since ServiceMaster® Brands includes many brands, there are lots of new spaces to learn about and create a dynamic workspace. I could also say that the UX team had a welcoming and exciting dynamic, and the company culture was very inviting!
Where do you see your career in five years?
In five years, I hope to be a Senior UX Designer, leading a team to help make users’ technological experiences more accessible and inclusive.
What’s a project you’re working on that you’re excited about?
Currently I am working on the Merry Maids® e-commerce platform, specifically designing the flow for a recurring booking. This project is allowing me to improve my design skills as well as conduct user testing sessions. It is also expanding my experience of cross-functional work with teams such as developers, marketers and more!
Who’s your everyday hero?
My everyday hero is my dad. His positive attitude and strength will never fail even in the toughest situations. He is one of the funniest people I know and one of the most caring.
What’s your favorite ServiceMaster® Brands value and why?
My favorite value at ServiceMaster Brands is “We Care.” Even though I haven’t been here long, I can already see that this value is embraced by all team members. I have confidence that my colleagues will provide strong support whenever I need it.
How would you describe the ServiceMaster® Brands atmosphere to someone interested in working here?
The atmosphere is filled with friendly, hard-working people. It’s a place where you can enjoy your time at work while still being productive!
