Seasonal & Regional Pest Management Tips

Southeast – Fall

The coming of fall drives rodents such as rats and mice to search for new sources of food as the seeds and grasses they usually feed on become more rare. Carpet beetles and clothes moths are also active during these months, and can cause irreparable damage to clothing, carpets, drapes, and any other item made of natural fiber. Yellow jacket colonies remain active well into fall, as do odorous house hands, crazy ants and fire ants. Warm fall weather means families and pets are still active outside, and fleas will continue to be a problem. American and smoky brown cockroaches are also likely to invade during the fall in search of food.
