About 1/8-inch long, these brown ants give off a strong odor when crushed.

Behavior
Because they do not respond to bait, these ants require professional treatment.

Habitat
Common in the Pacific Northwest and parts of the mid-south, these ants will nest in walls, beneath carpeting, and in other spaces.

Treatment
Direct extermination of colonies with follow-up inspections and treatments.
