Honeybee
Appearance
About 1/2-inch long, honeybees are yellow with dark bands.
|
|
Behavior
Honeybee colonies can survive up to a decade or more. They are impossible
to distinguish from the far more dangerous "killer bees" which have
invaded the Southwest and California. Killer bees are highly aggressive
and are a health risk.
|
Habitat
Bees will nest in crawl spaces, attics, walls, or chimneys.
|
Treatment
Because the honeybee is so similar to the killer bee, anyone living
in the Southwest or other area where killer bees have been spotted
should act with extreme caution. Only professionals
should handle bee colonies or swarms. |
