Carpenter Ant
Appearance
These large ants are about 5/8-inch long. They are most often black,
but can be brown and black or red and black as well.

Behavior
Carpenter ants prey on other insects and are very difficult to control.

Habitat
Carpenter ants are attracted to dark, wet areas like crawl spaces,
attics and areas near plumbing leaks.

Treatment
Prompt professional treatment is required. Risks can be reduced by
keeping firewood, stacks of bricks, etc. away from the home and repairing
plumbing leaks to eliminate water sources. |
