"Without question, the best part of my internship was realizing that I was actually doing real work. There was no envelope stuffing or days consumed by making copies for every person in the building. I had people, to my surprise, actually asking for my input on ways to approach problems. I even had the opportunity to take the lead role in presenting data and analysis from the underwriting department to contractor relations. Everyone, from the analyst level all the way to the president, made it clear that this internship was about getting real work experience and learning the tools I will need to be successful in the workplace.

My time at American Home Shield (AHS) served as a perfect supplement to both my school and work life. I had the opportunity to directly apply what I learned in class while also working on problems that could never be simulated in a classroom. In addition to the work experience, I had a chance to spend time with some great people, attend some great events, and sit in on some great “lunch and learns”. ServiceMaster Internship Program

As a ServiceMaster Corporate Intern at our Business Support Center in Memphis, Tenn., you will participate in a 10-week paid program designed to provide you with real-world experience and prepare you for an exciting role in a corporate environment.

Internship opportunities may be available in the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Human Resources/Organizational Development
  • Corporate Communications
  • Marketing
  • IT/MIS/Graphic Design
  • Strategy and Business Development

In order to be a successful intern, you will need to possess the following background/experience:

  • Demonstrated academic success (minimum 3.0 GPA)
  • Current sophomore or junior status if undergraduate or first-year MBA status (highly preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong technical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proven leadership ability
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-motivated

ServiceMaster MBA Program

Through a well rounded experience of challenging rotations, training and development opportunities, highly visible projects and formal review and recognition programs, the Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) is uniquely designed to provide a pipeline of leadership talent for ServiceMaster.

The ServiceMaster FLDP is a three year MBA rotational program composed of three or four rotations in the following areas:

  • Corporate FP&A (Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Strategy & Financial Planning, Operational Initiatives)
  • Business Unit Finance (Terminix)
  • Treasury Operations, Corporate Accounting and Tax
  • Other Finance & Accounting Departments

The openings are located at our corporate headquarters in Memphis, Tenn.

As an FLDP associate, candidates will collaborate with many company functional leaders on a broad number of financial assignments. These assignments will provide an opportunity for the associate to increase their level of proficiency in technical, strategic and leadership skill sets. In addition, FLDP associates will work on highly visible and cross-functional projects designed to support all areas of the organization. Career advancement occurs at defined intervals and is dependent upon business needs, and the participant’s rate of development and contributions to the organization.
